Forum > In comparison to your competitors

I was really enjoying agave nectar and then read an article my Dr. Mercola about the fact that some agave syrups have a higher concentration of fructose, thus making them more dangerous than high fructose corn syrup. As I understand from his article, this is due to the high refinement of them. And although he said there were others that were better, he didn't give any brand names. So last Friday I was at my favorite coop and found Ojio agave nectar. When I compared the sugar and fiber contents to the competitors, yours was less in sugars but higher in fiber. So it appears that yours is a healthier one. Can you speak of this and the health concerns surrounding agave nectar? I really like agave nectar; however, am concerned about the health issues, ie. absorption issues, visceral fat, etc. Thank you!

We choose to never speak on the quality of our competitors products. We can only speak on the quality of our own. We have tested our Agave and based on the test analysis, our Agave has 1.9% Sucrose, 48.2% Fructose, 8.4% Glucose and the remainder is an indigestible fiber. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Happy Earth Day 2011!
Ojio
